FAQ

Questions merchants ask before they wire the cascade.

The most common questions from Shopify operators evaluating an own-domain checkout with multi-MID routing. Founder answers direct on WhatsApp, Telegram or Discord — links in the footer.

Money, funds, holds

Do you hold or process my money?

No. Payments go directly from your customer to your own gateway account. We are middleware, not a PSP. Payouts settle from your gateway to your bank on the gateway's normal schedule.

Do you touch card data?

No. Card data is tokenized directly by your gateway. CascadeCheckout never sees a raw PAN.

What if my gateway freezes my payouts?

That is a merchant-to-gateway issue. We can help you cascade to a second MID while it clears, but we cannot un-freeze funds held by your acquirer. This is why running more than one MID is the point.

Shopify, products, apps

I got banned by Shopify Payments. Can I still use my store?

Yes. Your Shopify store, products, apps, discount codes and fulfillment all keep working. You connect your own gateway through CascadeCheckout and keep selling from the same store.

Do my orders still show up in Shopify?

Yes. Orders sync back to Shopify tagged [cascade] so your fulfillment, apps and reports keep working like before.

Do Shopify discount codes work?

Yes. Discount codes apply on the CascadeCheckout page and pass through to the Shopify order record.

Do I need a new Shopify plan?

No. Any paid Shopify plan works. You do not need Shopify Plus.

Gateways and cascade

Which gateways can I connect?

Almost any gateway with an API — Stripe, Mollie, Adyen, NMI, Nuvei, Airwallex, Checkout.com, PXP, Whop, Coinbase Commerce, Trustly, MyFatoorah, custom HTTP endpoints. If it has a payment intent + capture endpoint, we can wire it.

What happens if my gateway declines or bans me?

That is the cascade. You connect more than one gateway. If the first fails, throttles or bans, the next one captures inside 400ms. The customer never sees an error.

How many MIDs can I run?

Starter is single-route. Growth supports up to four MIDs. Scale is unlimited.

Does the cascade work on Apple Pay and Google Pay?

Wallet routing depends on the gateway. Where the gateway supports wallet capture, the cascade continues to work. Native Shopify Payments express buttons are suppressed on the checkout page so buyers land in the routed flow.

Buyer experience

Will my customers notice anything different?

They press Buy on your store and pay on a checkout page branded as your store, on your own domain (checkout.your-brand.com). For them it is a normal modern checkout.

What languages does the checkout support?

Seven locales at launch. Locale is pinned per store or auto-detected from the buyer.

Is it mobile-optimized?

Yes. Mobile-first design. Wallet buttons, single-line card entry, address autofill.

Setup and pricing

How long does setup take?

24 to 48 hours from the moment you send us your gateway API keys. First test order goes through inside that window.

What does it cost?

Starter $199/mo + 1% GMV. Growth $399/mo + 1% GMV. Scale $999/mo + 0.7% GMV. Plus one-time $499 onboarding. Gateway fees stay with the gateway.

Can I try it before paying?

The onboarding fee unlocks a sandbox and one live test order per route before your billing cycle begins.

Do you work with WooCommerce?

Yes. A WooCommerce plugin is included on the Scale tier and available as an add-on for Growth.

Compliance and boundaries

Is this allowed?

You use your own gateway account under your own contract with that provider, on your own checkout domain, selling your declared category. You stay responsible for following your gateway's terms and selling compliant products. We provide the software connection.

Do you hide my vertical from the acquirer?

No. You disclose your true MCC to the acquirer. We do not obfuscate the product category. What we do is give you the software to route across multiple MIDs that have approved your category.

Are you PCI compliant?

The checkout page uses PCI-compliant tokenization directly with your gateway. We never store card data ourselves. Merchants remain responsible for their own PCI attestation via their gateway.
